Taking Kansas City Area Students Beyond the Classroom
Taking Kansas City Area Students Beyond the Classroom
To encourage the critical thinking skills and scientific understanding by using The American Rocketry Contest for Kansas City and the surrounding area Students
To expand further, we wish to enrich the lives of all students throughout the Kansas City metro area through scientific study by rocketry. The American Rocketry Challenge allows students grades 6 through 12 a fascinating and exciting way to understand the balance of science. This particular contest allows students to expand their grasp on how physical actions affect the trajectory of their rockets and their lives. The rockets are changed by their engineering, mass, recovery, and repeatability. The students lives are changed by understanding the critical thinking, constant change, project management, and upward momentum.
Designing, simulating, and building rockets needs to be a safe and rewarding experience.
Rocketry has been a very safe learning experience since the early 1960's. Teaching how to safely build, launch, and recover rockets is paramount!
To compete in the American Rocketry Challenge, you must be able to gather altitudes using electronics, understand how mass effects flights, and how to properly configure the rocket to hit the targets requested by ARC.
By being able to repeat their results and adjust data through aerospace science, they can calculate how to reach their goals. This also translates into critical thinking skills throughout their lifetime.
